Bournemouth University's RAG (Raising and Giving) President, Lauren Ellis very kindly chose Round Table Children's Wish to support in the 2011/12 year.
The Santa Fun Run, held last Sunday, is one of a variety of exciting events, held to raise funds for its four chosen charities.
Nicky Thompson, the CEO of Round Table Children's Wish attended the event on Sunday to support and cheer on all the students participating in the Santa Fun Run, who ran a distance of 5 Kilometres from Bournemouth Pier to Branksome and back again.
Nicky and the team at RTCW would like to thank Lauren Ellis and Bournemouth University for your support of the charity and also a big thank you to the students who took part in the event.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from us all here at the charity!
Patron Harry Redknapp was pleased to present the charity with a cheque for £7,373.00 raised from the Harry Redknapp Legends Golf Day held recently at Remedy Oak GC. A big thank you to both Harry and Derek Silk for choosing us as one of the charities to benefit from the day.
GVA Grimley partnered with the Round Table Children’s Wish charity won the award for Challenge Team for their 12 Wishes campaign. GVA Grimley employees from across the company’s 12 national offices sky dived and competed in triathlons, marathons, bake-offs and sweepstakes to raise over £50,000. They more than exceeded their targets, enabling 16 children to live their dreams, from riding on a steam train, to visiting Disneyland Paris and meeting pop star Leona Lewis.
Collecting the award from host, BBC News presenter Huw Edwards, Rob Bould, chief executive, GVA Grimley said: “GVA Grimley takes its commitments to supporting charities extremely seriously, but this was the first time all our people could see first hand the difference donations could make to individual children and their families. This inspired them to pull out the stops and use their skills and expertise to go so much further.”
Also accepting the award at the black tie event was Helen Jeffery, Fundraising and Communications Manager at Round Table Children’s Wish, who said: “The staff at GVA Grimley achieved more than we could have possibly imagined, and this award is well deserved recognition of their supreme commitment and energy working together with our charity.”
