What is Round Table Children's Wish?

Round Table Children’s Wish is a registered charity that grants Wishes to children throughout Great Britain and Ireland who are aged under 18 and are suffering from life-threatening illnesses.

The aim is to fulfil a child's secret dream whether it is to meet their own heroes and idols from the worlds of sport, television and popular music, or perhaps to give them the opportunity to swim with dolphins, have a ride in a sports car or even make a become a train driver for the day. For others, a quiet holiday with family members or the gift of a computer may be their ideal Wish.

Even in the closest of families, children have a secret dream that they do not share with anyone else. In each case we ensure that the Wish we grant is truly that of the child, not what someone else assumes they might like!

Founded in 1990, the charity has granted over 1,000 wishes. The long-standing links with members of both Round Table and Ladies' Circle, and the tremendous help received from the growing number of supporters nationwide, enable the charity to continually expand and increase the number of Wishes for so many children.

Round Table Children’s Wish has established excellent working relationships with specialist paediatric units across the country, from which many of the Wish referrals are received. A growing number of referrals are also passed to the charity from our supporters.

To be able to grant even more Wishes the charity needs a steady flow of funds. At present the runners in the London Marathon provide our largest single contribution, but we always need to extend our range of fundraising, supporters and corporate partners.
