London Marathon 2018

Fancy signing up for the London Marathon 2018?

April 2018

The 2017 London Marathon has now passed. But if you are interested in taking part in the 2018 London Marathon, please get in touch!

All you need to do to pledge your interest is contact Sam on 01202 514515 or email samantha@rtcw.org

We would recommend anyone looking for a place to apply for a ballot space via the London Marathon entry system.

The Ballot Entry system opens on Monday 1st May 2017 – please visit the website to enter https://www.virginmoneylondonmarathon.com/en-gb/how-to-enter/ballot-entry/    It will close on Friday 5th May 2017.    It is like a lottery and if you are lucky enough to receive a space you only pay a nominal amount to register. And if you choose to fundraise for us, you can just raise whatever you are able to (there wouldn’t be a set minimum sponsorship to raise) as you would have your own place.

If you are unsuccessful in the ballot and require a charity space, we will ask for £150 upon registration (later this year), which goes towards the cost of the space, and then a set minimum sponsorship to raise.

The amount has not been set as yet, but to give you an idea, this years was £1650.

Once you have applied to the ballot, you will not find out the results until Sept/Oct time and you will then need to let us know.  We can then either free up that guaranteed charity space to another runner, or proceed with securing it for you, if you didn’t get a ballot place. Please note: we cannot hold spaces open for long periods of time. You will need to let us know as soon as you receive your results, otherwise we shall assume you no longer require it.

Those that are unsuccessful in the ballot or have not entered the ballot will need to pledge their £150 registration fee in order to secure a place. This fee contributes towards to the cost of the space that we have purchased from the organisers. You will agree (as part of the registration process) to raise a further set minimum sponsorship of £1650 (£1800 total with your registration fee).

Missed the ballot? Skip straight to securing a guaranteed place with us now, by emailing Sam on the contact details above.

If you are lucky enough to secure a London Marathon 2018 ballot space, please get in touch! We would still love to have you on our charity team next year. Ballot runners do not have a set minimum to raise, but anything you do raise would be so appreciated by the charity.

Any runners who join the Round Table Children’s Wish team, can expect the following:

  • A Fundraising Pack
  • A Running Vest in your chosen size
  • Lots of fundraising support and advice
  • On the day guidance and support
  • Charity hotel information
  • A coach transfer to the start line if staying at the charity hotel
  • Information about staying in London
  • The great feeling of running for a very small charity, whilst making a BIG difference

If you want to find out more, please contact Sam on 01202 514515 or email samantha@rtcw.org
