Great North Run 2017
Join us on Sun 10th September 2017 for the Great North Run
The famous Great North Run half marathon is taking place on Sunday 10th September 2017. Held in Newcastle, this event has fantastic live music from ‘bands on the run’ and a brilliant atmosphere. The spectator-lined course heads over the Tyne Bridge and onto a coastal finish on South Shields.
Our 2017 charity spaces are just £25 to register with £325 to raise in minimum sponsorship.
The 13.1 mile route takes runners through the city centre towards the River Tyne where thousands of people will cross over the iconic Tyne Bridge. You might even catch a glimpse of the Red Arrows passing overhead.
Next, runners travel through Gateshead, while being entertained by the many bands on the run. The route leads runners to South Shields where at the top of Prince Edward Road, the view of the sea is one of the most welcoming sights along the whole course.
Finally, there is just over a mile to go and the crowds get louder as runners make their way down the final straight towards the finish gantry.
