Book your tickets now for the new comedy The Amours of Lillie Langtry.
A brand new comedy – The Amours of Lillie Langtry – written by award winning playwright Joan Greening, is in exclusive previews at Langtry Manor. Showing on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th May before its premier at the Edinburgh Festival.
Lillie was called ‘the most beautiful woman in the world’ by Oscar Wilde, and this super celebrity, who bridged the Victorian and Edwardian eras, led life on her own terms, mistress to Princes, Earls, and a few rich Americans along the way! Lillie’s life was full of scandal, riches, adoration and men…but there was one person who wasn’t a fan, and that was Lillie’s daughter Jeanne Marie. Jeanne despised her Mother’s lifestyle, and longed for respectability. In her approaching marriage to Conservative MP, Ian Malcolm, son of a Laird, she thought her wish was to be granted…or was it?
In 1902, on the eve of her wedding Jeanne’s life is thrown into disarray, when she is told something that would mean the biggest scandal in Lillie’s life may yet come to light, ruining her chances of happiness and her dream of being accepted into society’s arms. Only her Mother can help her, but will Lillie share her secrets and reveal the truth…?
These 2 special performances starring Sarah Archer as Lillie and Emma Hopkins as her daughter Jeanne Marie are at 3.30pm on each day.
Why not combine the show with the Langtry’s Edwardian Afternoon Tea from 2.30pm for £22.50 per person. Alternatively show only tickets are £10.00 each.
Both performances are in support of Round Table Children’s Wish. £2.00 from every ticket will go towards supporting magical wishes.
