They do a fantastic job of ensuring that Round Table Children’s Wish can continue to grant handcrafted wishes. Our Trustees are:
Andrew Simmonds – Chair of Trustees
Andrew was elected to the Board of Round Table in June 2014. A third generation “Tabler”, Andrew is based in Bristol and married with two young children.
Andrew has been an active member of Round Table for over 14 years. During this time he has raised funds for various local and national charities. Most notably, he has been the organiser of Bristol’s largest charity firework display for the past 7 years.
In 2009 Andrew was appointed as a Trustee of the Great Western Air Ambulance charity. This is one of a select few air ambulances to operate a “gold standard” critical care model. He has been instrumental in the strategic planning and management of growth for one of the region’s most high-profile charities.
Andrew is Managing Director of BNS, a property management business. He brings both his eye for business detail and charitable governance to the board of RTCW.
National Tangent President 2016-17 and past Ladies Circle National Secretary
Paula has been a supporter of RTCW from its inception through her Ladies Circle connection. She continued to support the charity through her Round Table family connections and jumped at the opportunity of a more proactive role as one of our trustees. Paula has previously worked as a project manager for a multi-national I.T. company. She puts her experience in budget and schedule management, event planning, and team building to use in growing the charity for the future.
Paula is an active member of Tangent following her background within Ladies Circle where she was a National Board Member. She is keen to support the on-going development of wishes and often attends our runs in support of people taking part for RTCW.
Paula is currently serving as National President for Tangent Clubs.
Matthew, from Bournemouth is the Managing Director of a local digital marketing company. He has been a supporter of RTCW for a while now, and provides his expertise on his specialist subject.
“I am focused on helping the charity grow and grant even more wishes for children with life threatening illnesses. I am also really keen for us to grow our profile locally and nationally. It is such a pleasure to be a part of this charity.”
Matthew also delivers his marketing expertise to students at Bournemouth University.
Sarah is a Senior Risk Business Partner at LV in Bournemouth. She has an impressive portfolio of experience in various areas. These include strategy, HR, marketing and operations.
“For me, the special nature of RTCW is that it creates a truly positive experience for families that are going through their darkest moments. I am humbled and honoured to play a part in such an amazing charity. I feel that in some small way, I can be part of making a real difference to the lives of young people who have the courage to keep smiling every day, no matter what.”
Sarah helped set up and remains actively involved in the first women’s network within LV. This network has become the largest within LV, helping women achieve their full potential and encouraging positive cultural change.
Past International Relations Officer for Round Table and voted ‘International Round Tabler of the Year’ in 2001
Jim has undertaken many roles within Round Table, at local, area and National level. It was here that he discovered the great work that RTCW does. As a result he ran the London Marathon in 2009, raising over £8,100 for the charity. He ran 10 marathons around the world before retiring from running with a dodgy knee.
Jim is a self employed Training Consultant specializing in the area of sales success, customer service excellence and personal development. He is an ex-bank manager, who is qualified as a speech and drama coach with the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. He is also a qualified Neuro Linguistic Programming Coach with the Irish Institute of NLP. Therefore Jim brings an array of skills to the trust.
Jim lives in the West Midlands with his wife Vicky, a Past National President of Ladies Circle.
On leaving school, Anton joined the Royal Air Force and completed a three year avionics apprenticeship. He then spent four years working with the air-to-air missile control system on Phantom F4 fighter aircraft.
Upon leaving the RAF in 1988, Anton began his stage automation career, working all over the world on numerous stage productions and arts venue projects. He founded his company AVW Controls Ltd in 1996 and is a chartered engineer. He is a former trustee-director of the Association of British Theatre Technicians and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. As a result of his contributions to stage automation, Anton was awarded OBE in 2013.
Anton is current Chairman of 41 Club for Bury St Edmunds and former Chairman and President of Round Table in Bury St Edmunds. He joined RTCW as a trustee in 2017.
Anton lives in Suffolk with his wife Sharon and their three children. He enjoys playing blues guitar.
