Our Trustees

Our Trustees are Parents, Community Partners and current members of Round Table, 41 Club and Tangent.

They do a fantastic job of ensuring that Round Table Children’s Wish can continue to grant handcrafted wishes. Our Trustees are:

Peter Manley – Chair of Trustees

Peter was appointed as Chair of the Board of trustees November 2013. He brings a wealth of experience from his involvement in several businesses in the commercial world. After spending his early career in Radio & Radar Electronics in the defence industry, Peter decided that IT was where his passions and skills lay. After building his IT career with a number of leading Life Assurance and Banking Organisations, he later started up his own IT Consultancy business. Peter has grown his business into a profitable and sustainable organisation.

Peter became involved with Round Table and through this connection became an active supporter of RTCW. In 2008, Peter became the National President of Round Table Great Britain & Ireland, after a Round Table career spanning over 18 years. There was a strategic involvement in most aspects of the Association. This included Budgeting and Fiscal Control, Diplomacy, Management, Marketing, Membership Development processes. Finally, and most enjoyably, Peter represented the Association at club meetings both around the UK and Worldwide.

Peter very much enjoys his role with RTCW and feels he has much to give back to the charity. Peter is actively supported by his wife, Marie and his two grown up children.


Andrew Simmonds

Our Trustees - Andrew Simmonds

Round Table

Andrew was elected to the Board of Round Table in June 2014. A third generation “Tabler”, Andrew is based in Bristol and married with two young children.

Andrew has been an active member of Round Table for over 14 years. During this time he has been involved with fundraising for various local and national charities.  Most notably, he has been the organiser of Bristol’s largest charity firework display for the past 7 years.

In 2009 Andrew was appointed as a Trustee of the Great Western Air Ambulance charity. This is one of a select few air ambulances to operate a “gold standard” critical care model. He has been instrumental in the strategic planning and management of growth for one of the region’s most high-profile charities.

Andrew is Managing Director of BNS, a property management business. He brings both his eye for business detail and charitable governance to the board of RTCW.


Kevin Chard

Our Trustees - Kevin Chard

41 Club Board Member

Kevin grew up in the town of Midsomer Norton Nr Bath. He spent 12 years working in the Trusts and Estates department of a firm of solicitors where he was involved with charity law.

In 1997 Kevin joined the family Business of Avon & Wessex Motor Factors Ltd as Managing Director.

Kevin has been a very active member of Round Table since 1996. This is where Kevin’s involvement with the work of RTCW began. He has held various posts at local and national level and has always supported the work of the charity. Kevin is now a National Councillor for 41 Club (past Tabler).


Paula Farnfield

Our Trustees - Paula FarnfieldNational Tangent President 2016-17 and past Ladies Circle National Secretary

Paula has been a supporter of RTCW from its inception through her Ladies Circle connection. She continued to support the charity through her Round Table family connections and jumped at the opportunity of a more proactive role as a trustee. Paula has previously worked as a project manager for a multi-national I.T. company. Her experience of budget and schedule management, event planning, and team building are all put to use in growing the charity for the future.

Paula is an active member of Tangent following her background within Ladies Circle where she was a National Board Member. She is keen to support the on-going development of wishes and often attends our runs in support of people taking part for RTCW.

Paula is currently serving as National President for Tangent Clubs.


Matthew Hughes

Our Trustees - Matt HughesCommunity Partner

Matthew, from Bournemouth is the Managing Director of a local digital marketing company. He has been a supporter of RTCW for a while now, and provides his expertise on his specialist subject.

“I am focused on helping the charity grow and to enable more wishes to be granted to children with life threatening illnesses.  I am also really keen for us to grow our profile locally and nationally. It is such a pleasure to be a part of this charity.”

Matthew also delivers his marketing expertise to students at Bournemouth University.


John Payne

Our Trustees - John Payne41 Club & Round Table member & past Round Table National President

John joined Coventry No. 23 Round Table over 15 years ago and has always been a great supporter of RTCW over the years. During this time he has held various positions within his own Round Table, Area Round Table, and also served for 6 years on the National Board of Round Tables Great Britain & Ireland.

In 2011, John was honoured to become National President of Round Table Great Britain & Ireland. Along with the 41 Club National President, Vaughan Harris, they chose RTCW as their Charity for the year. Members of both associations had great fun and fellowship raising funds during the year. Together they achieved a fantastic result of just short of £100,000.

John is a director of Payne Associates Estate Agents and Chartered Surveyors in Coventry. He has worked within the profession for over 25 years. John started his own firm 5 years ago, and has successfully grown the business over those years. He now has five offices and, as a result has been able to employ over thirty members of staff. He is a Past Chairman of the National Association of Estate Agents, and lives in Coventry with his partner Elizabeth.


Sarah Goodman

Our Trustees - Sarah GoodmanCommunity Partner

Sarah is a Senior Risk Business Partner at LV in Bournemouth. She has an impressive portfolio of experience in various areas. These include strategy, HR, marketing and operations.

“For me, the special nature of RTCW is that it creates a truly positive experience for families that are going through their darkest moments. I am humbled and honoured to have a part to play in such an amazing charity. I feel that in some small way, I can be part of making a real difference to the lives of young people who have the courage to keep smiling every day, no matter what.”

Sarah helped set up and remains actively involved in the first women’s network within LV. This network has become the largest within LV, helping women achieve their full potential and encouraging positive cultural change.
