Birmingham had the Commonwealth, but Ferndown had the Annual RTCW Charity Golf Day!!

While the country had their eyes on a fantastic commonwealth games hosted by Birmingham, teams of loyal supporters attended the Round Table Children’s Wish Annual Charity Golf Day at Dudsbury Golf Club, Hotel and Spa, all in aid of poorly children.

10 Teams of keen golfers all entered the annual golf day to take home the 2022 winners crown, in the form of the RTCW winners plate, freshly engraved by last years winners Ellis Jones Solicitors.

The day began with goodie bags and a bacon bap before each team took to the 6,904 – yard par, 71 championship golf course at the award winning club.

Golfers followed the 19 hole Stableford competition, while also participating in the longest drive on hole 6 and nearest to the pin on hole 15.

With the perfect August weather, teams were treated to some special guest appearances. Local deer and birds of pray were seen and captured around the course along with a not so welcomed guest of a snake!

Once the golf was finished and score cards collected, the day continued with a host of evening activities.

This year using the very elegant Brabant Suite, the teams took their seats to be served a delicious 2 course meal. Soon followed by RTCW’s famous wine raffle the ‘Bin of Booze’, plus some traditional dinner games, also new for this year, the mystery box game!

The evening concluded with the draw of the main raffle, a very entertaining auction presented by RTBI Community Officer and RTCW trustee Alan Collins along with the help of his glamourous assistant Lead Ambassador Tanya Harder, before finishing with the all important prize giving.
