Total Security Protection: Marathon in the Mountains

After three attempts to support Round Table Children’s Wish, we are delighted to finally be able to share with you how Total Security Protection Ltd (TSP) continued to support our wish families, even after aggressive injuries, lockdowns, and a global pandemic.

Committed to our cause this incredibly generous company did not stop until they completed a fundraising challenge, so together we can grant even more handcrafted wishes to children and young people, across the UK who suffer with a life-threatening and terminal illness.

A huge thank you to TSP for raising an astonishing £12,067.75 for our charity. We’ve loved watching their entire company get involved, the enthusiastic workforce hosted an array of fundraising events and even got their children engaged with the exercise, as well as creating a young champion cheer squad guided by Alife (aged 8) and Izabella (aged 8).

We were first introduced to Total Security Protection by Richard Parnell – CEO. Richard was a fellow Ex Tabler at Pinner 372 and Monmouth and has run several Marathons for our charity in the past. Richard and Chris Worrall decided to take on the 2020 London Marathon to support our charity, however, due to aggressive injuries they had to pull out.

Devoted to our wish families, TSP decided to take on the Cotswold Way Challenge, which is a demanding 100-mile trek. Unfortunately, Covid put a stop to that, which lead them back to the drawing board to figure out their next challenge.

After much deliberation, the Senior Management Team presented us with Plan C – The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.  This was originally meant to have taken place on Saturday 17th October 2020, but due to the rule of six of Covid restrictions the event got postponed to Friday 22nd May 2021.

With the challenge ahead of 24 miles across the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough reaching an ascent of 5200ft in under 12 hours, the team certainly had their work cut out for them.

The determined team of 7 took to the challenge in the most extreme weather conditions of cold, gale force winds, hailstones and rain. The land was so wet and flooded they walked up waterfalls, jumped raging bursting streams and navigated paths balancing on random rocks.  Nevertheless, once again, the team battled through and absolutely smashed their challenge and their fundraising target.

We are beyond grateful for the time and energy everyone at Total Security Protection (www.tsp.co.uk) has dedicated to our charity. Your support has and will continue to help make more wishes come true for children with life-threatening illnesses.
