When we wished upon the Tyne to support sick children

Round Table Children’s Wish had the most incredible runners take on the world’s biggest half marathon on Sunday 12th September at the Great North Run.

Thank you to our charity team for making a difference through your compassion and generosity.  Your support will help make more magical moments come true for sick children.

Our runners trained tirelessly to race 13.1 miles and we were delighted to support their journey. This year, the Great North Run celebrated its 40th anniversary in fine style! It was a joy to see thousands of spectators cheer on the runners. Everyone looked in awe when the Red Arrows made an appearance in the sky for their iconic fly-by display! And there were plenty of imaginative costumes featured on the route, filled with colourful characters. The entire day just released an electrifying buzz throughout Newcastle.

One major difference from this year’s event was the route, with runners finishing back at Newcastle, instead of South Shields. Stepping over Tyne Bridge twice the route was changed due to Covid restrictions.

We would like to thank our runners again for their donations and their association with our wish cause. It’s these acts of kindness that support our wishes and allow us to continue granting wishes for children with a life-threatening illness.

We loved seeing the smiles on race day!
